Legal Translation

Translation refers to the process of converting written or spoken words from one language to another. In today’s globalized world, where people from diverse language backgrounds interact regularly, translation has become an essential tool for effective communication. One industry that has particularly relied heavily on translation is the legal industry. Legal translation involves translating legal documents, contracts, agreements, and court proceedings from one language to another. In this paper, we will examine the importance of translation to the legal industry and how it has impacted the modern legal landscape.

Translation and the Legal Industry

The legal industry is one of the most language-sensitive industries in the world. Laws, contracts, and agreements are written in different languages, and lawyers must be able to communicate effectively with clients from diverse language backgrounds. There is often no room for error in legal documents, as even the smallest mistakes can have serious legal consequences. Therefore, the need for accurate translation in the legal industry cannot be overemphasized.

In the past, the legal industry had to rely on human translators, which was time-consuming, expensive, and prone to errors. However, modern technology has made it easier to translate legal documents. For example, artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms can now translate legal documents with high accuracy, saving time and resources.

Importance of Translation in the Legal Industry

Globalization. The world is becoming more interconnected every day, and globalization has made it easier for individuals and businesses to conduct business across borders. However, different countries have different legal systems and languages. Therefore, effective communication is critical, and accurate translation is essential to ensure that parties understand each other’s rights and obligations.

Legal Compliance. Businesses operating in different countries must comply with the laws and regulations of each country. Therefore, legal documents such as contracts and agreements must be translated accurately to avoid any legal ambiguity or misunderstanding. Accurate translation ensures that businesses are compliant with local regulations and can avoid costly legal disputes and penalties.

Litigation. In legal proceedings, parties must be able to communicate effectively with each other and present their cases clearly. Language barriers can create misunderstandings and make it difficult for parties to present their cases effectively. Accurate translation ensures that parties can communicate with each other effectively and present their cases clearly in court.

Yes, we offer translation services to both individuals and businesses. Individuals’ documents that we translate include, but are not limited to, birth certificates, marriage contracts, school and university reports and certificates, driving licenses, passports and residency stamps, title deeds and many others.

A translation with judicial verification is performed by a translator appointed by the Ministry of Justice. The certified translator guarantees that the translated content is identical to the original. The original document, or copy of the original document, is securely fastened to the certified translation and the translator’s signature and seal appear on the translation as well. A certified translation is usually required when the translation is intended for use with local or foreign government bodies as embassies, ministries, state offices, courts, insurance companies, medical institutions, schools, universities, etc.

The translation fee includes both the translation of the text and its review. A translator who is qualified for a specific topic performs the translation and the translation is reviewed by a native speaker or an excellent speaker of the target language.

The cost of the translation is influenced by four factors: the source and target languages, the word content and subject matter of the source text as well as the final format of the target text.

A standard page contains 200 words.

The process is determined by the format of the text you send us for translation. If the text is received in an uneditable format, we will first convert it to an editable format and then calculate the number of standard pages based on the number of words. We calculate the translation fee based on the latter.

Yes. The rate per word for translations performed between a given language combination differs. This is a supply and demand process, and typically, the more translators there are for a given language combination, the lower the rate.
